To The Wedding!

Quincey's Auntie Lou Lou (her cousin but she just seems too old to be called cousin) got engaged and she asked Quincey to be her flower girl.  I was soooo excited.  Quincey had no idea what it meant but for months I was anxious to see her be the cute little girl walking down the aisle right before the bride.

Abby picked out the most beautiful dress and it fit perfectly!  It was a scramble to get ready to go to the wedding because we literally had to leave like 4 days after we moved to Wyoming.

Thank goodness for Dessa!  When trying to figure out how to get to Texas (because that's where Abby decided to get married) I thought I would likely drive the 6 hours to Denver to catch a flight and I was not looking forward to it because Joe just couldn't manage to get the time off of work to go.  While talking to Dessa about it, she suggested that we come to Jackson the day before and catch a flight with them out of Idaho Falls since the Jackson Hole airport was closed due to construction.  I was soooo relieved to not have to manage a flight with Quincey alone.

So, we made our way to Jackson and the next day, Auntie Dessa and all her kids and I and Quincey made the trip to Idaho Falls and flew to Texas.

This was the first time in almost a full year that we ventured out of our Covid restricted box.  I think Joe knew how important it was for me to go and so, we broke the seal and lived life normally for the first time in a year!  It was GLORIOUS!!!   We stopped at Mcdonalds, actually ate inside, Quincey actually got to play in the play area, and we didn't even wear a mask!!!!  It felt so good to have some normality.

Finally arrived in Dallas, TX

Quincey did so good on the plane.  She absolutely loves seeing the airplanes in the sky and squeels with delight when she hears and sees on, but she could have cared less that she was actually on the plane.  She slept the whole flight there.

Abby got married at such a beautiful location outside of Athens, Tx on the SDA camp.  It was so fun to go out there and spend time with family.  All of us sisters were there and my dad.

Grace just had to get Quincey a buggy juice because I used to bring her kids them every time I came

And, she let her drive whenever she was in the vehicle with her (only out at the SDA camp)

Quincey got a bowl made special from her grandpa.  A present to treasure!

Asher really wanted to try holding her

Quincey even met some new friends!!!  She did such a good job playing with others.  I was a proud mama.

She got to also go in a pool.  This was her first real pool.  She absolutely loved getting in the hot tub that we had in Albuquerque, but she was really hesitant at first to venture into a pool that she couldn't see the ground in.  Eventually, after some time, she did start to really enjoy herself.

The day of the wedding was craziness!  This was the most stimulation Quincey had in over a year so by the day of the wedding, after playing with new friends and cousins for a couple days, I put her down for a nap and asked Uncle Jason to bring her to the house all the girls were getting ready in because Afton wanted me to do her hair.  An hour went by, two hours, three hours, and finally around the 4-hour mark Jason called me and said that he tried to go in and wake her because we were running out of time to get her ready and well, Jason was the father of the bride and marrying them so he kind of needed to get going.  He said that he thought I should probably wake her up because she seemed like she was in such a dead sleep, and he didn't want to upset her.  What a good uncle!!!  So, I drove over there and had to basically just carry her out of her pack and play.  Luckily, after 4 hours, she woke up well and was excited to get ready for the wedding.

We had been practicing for month how to throw flower pedals.  I was actually just worried that she wouldn't walk down the aisle.  She had just started to get shy around strangers and I thought that there would be no way that she would walk down without me with a bunch of strangers looking at her.  But, the hour came, and it was her time to shine!  She did walk down the aisle all on her own, but that little stinker only threw one flower pedal the whole time!!!!  Oh well, she was cute doing it!

After the wedding, she played and played and played and played and played and then played some more.  In particular, at the end of the evening, she spent a couple hours playing with her cousin Sophie.  It was so sweet to see my little niece whom I have cherished so much and remember playing with so much at that age interacting with my daughter and loving it.  They had such a great time.

Look at how dirty her tights were after the night ended.  They went straight into the trash!

Needless to say, Quincey was absolutely exhausted the next day.  I had to wake her up to go to the airport. She slept on the way there, she slept the whole flight home, and she slept on the drive home.  And then, she went to bed just fine that night when we finally made it back to Lander.

It was such an amazing time and so emotional and wonderful to see the first love of my life, little Abby Lou Lou Logan, get married.  And to have my own daughter be the flower girl was just such a sweet little bit of icing on top!

The Bus Loop

There is this place right outside of Lander called the bus loop.  I had heard about it numerous times but had never been.  However, my frie...
